Skinny Bitch in Training
Wednesday Weigh-in
Today’s Weight: 168.4
Last Weight: 174
Starting weight: 191.2 (12/27/11)
Total weight loss since (12.27.11): 22.8 lbs
Total weight loss since delivery: 57.6 lbs.
Well, I accomplished getting back to the weight I was at before I fell off the wagon, plus I lost an extra pound! I guess a few of those pounds must have been water weight, but I am definitely crediting the majority of the weight loss to the fact that I have been eating really clean.
I’ve been eating spinach salad at least once daily, sometimes twice daily and I’ve been eating a bowl of Special K each morning for breakfast.
I haven’t been working out, because I’m not sure if I blogged about this or not, but about 3 weeks ago I fractured/broke/hurt the crap out of two of my toes on my left foot. (the little piggy who went weeee weeee all the way home and his pal next to him, the little piggy who had none) So needless to say, putting on shoes hurts like hell. They are healing pretty fast though and I should be back to my exercise by next week.
This weekend we are going to Jacksonville, FL to visit some of our best friends. We’re eating at Miller’s Ale House: http://www.millersalehouse.com and I plan to indulge in this:
CAPT’N JACK’S BURIED TREASURE® Delicious Homemade Ice Cream Cake with Oreo® Cookie Crust, Caramel, Chocolate Fudge & Heath Bar Crunch.
I might even eat the whole thing myself. Yum.
I have discovered the delciousness that is spinach, and I’m a little obsessed. Why am I the last to find out just how incredibly tasty this iron-filled leafy green is? Sure, I’ve had it in dips, served under fish and in general treated like a supporting cast member — but this stuff deserves its own spotlight. It’s amazing!
This week I’ve eaten it sauteed with garlic & olive oil, on a grilled cheese, in a burger - but my most favorite way is in this salad.
If you’re anemic like me, this is a yummy way to pack in some extra iron and get that hemoglobin up!
All you need is a bunch of organic spinach - this is one place you really want to go for the good stuff, because these leaves are thin and they absorb all those nasty pesticides and chemicals. The organic leaves can be purchased in a pack for around $2 from Walmart. Not a bad deal as you can easily get 4 salads out of a pack. Okay. Back to the ingredients…
1 bunch of organic spinach
1/4 cup craisins
1/4 cup of blue cheese
3 tablespoons of Ken’s Fat Free Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette
Mix it all together and enjoy!
Approx nutrition:
254 Calories - 8 grams of fat - 10 grams of Iron
*contains 50% of your daily iron intake!
I’ve been adding Wheat Germ to at least one of my meals per day. It’s an excellent source of fiber, folic acid and it’s fat-fighting! Try sprinkling it in your cereal, adding it casseroles or adding a dusting in a salad!

Wednesday Weigh-in
Today’s Weight: 174 (yes, that’s a gain of 4.6lbs since my last weigh-in.)
Last Weigh-in was (4/4): 169.4
Starting weight: 191.2 (12/27/11)
Total weight loss since (12.27.11): 17.2 lbs
Total weight loss since delivery: 52 lbs.
Well, falling off the wagon did me no good whatsoever. I gained a total of 5.6 pounds according to my weight taken on Monday when I climbed back on this horse. Today I am weighing one pound less at 174. So I have to lose 4.6 pounds to get back to where I was 2 weeks ago.
I think seeing the scale go up was actually a good thing for me. For weeks I had been slacking on the diet and exercise, but the scale was pretty much holding steady. It took two solid weeks of popping soda, eating drive-thru and indulging in alcohol to finally see an actual gain on the scale. This of course has made me realize that I am indeed still human and eating crap food will produce crap results.
So now that my human junk food experiment is over (ha!), it’s time to get back down to business!

I gained 0.2 pounds, but I’m not even sure that counts. I mean, that could be hair out of place as far as I’m concerned. It sucks that I didn’t really lose anything, but I mean, when your diet has been as bad as mine was last week (Wendys? Ice Cream twice? Pizza?) it’s not really all that surprising when you don’t lose weight.
Oh well, I just had my delicious multi-grain bagel with low fat cream cheese, a giant glass of water and a vitamin. I’m off to a good start for the day!

It poured today, so my outdoor walk was cancelled. It’s probably a good thing because I’m not feeling too hot. I was supposed to go see The Hunger Games, but the old lady inside me couldn’t hang until midnight, so that has been postponed until Sunday.
Is anyone else going to see it tonight?
I can’t wait to hear how it is! If you go, please report back!
dropdeadbroski asked: you journey is coming along well. i see improvement. can you give me some tips?
Ha, well thank you. I’ve actually slowed down a lot in the weight loss, but hopefully that means I’m at least toning. I’ve found that using myfitnesspal has been a huge help! I count calories and log my exercise daily. Cutting sodas and increasing my water intake has also helped shed some pounds!
Breakfast: Special K w/skim milk, coffee w/sugar & cream
Lunch: Green beans, mashed potatoes, turkey & dressing, an angel biscuit, strawberry shortcake with shipped cream. - Uh, yum.

This is the first diet diary I’ve done in a week. I won’t bore you guys with lame excuses (and trust, they are lame) so I’ll just make a vow to try to do better.
Today is day 2 of walking with my friend Angie. We meet at her house and walk 1.8 miles through her neighborhood while I push my 18 month old in the stroller. It’s quite the workout, pushing 30 pounds of lazy baby in the hot sun!
I’m feeling focused, although my decline in weight loss shows that I really need to tighten up some more. I need to be sure I’m staying under my calories and getting my daily exercise. I have got to get my 1-2 pound loss per week back on track! No excuses!

I lost 0.4 pounds this week which isn’t all that bad considering I spent the entire weekend at my boss’ lake house eating mini cupcakes, Doritos and turkey & cheese sandwiches. Oh, and let’s not forget the beer. Oh, the delicious, wonderful beer.
I was completely and totally shocked when the scale didn’t show a gain of 3 pounds, so I’ll happily take a loss of .4 pounds!

Today I burned 300 calories in the gym, walking @ 3.5-4 MPH @ 6-7% incline. Of course, as soon as I walked out of the gym, I rolled my ankle.
I really, really hope that I’m able to walk fine tomorrow so I can keep up this gym routine.
Welp.
So much for starting Day 1 of three level exercise plan today. This afternoon as I was walking out of the gym, I missed the last step and twisted my ankle. I am currently laying in bed, foot elevated, with an ice pack, praying that tomorrow I will be able to walk on it.
I’m just glad that I was able to sneak in a workout pre-injury.
If I am unable to walk well, or if this ends up being more than just a night off, I guess I will look into swimming for exercise. Ugh.
Starting back at Day 1. Last time I made it to Level 1, Day 14. This time I hope to make it all the way through!
Wednesday Weigh-in!
Today: 171

Starting weight: 191.2 (12/27/11)
Total weight loss since (12.27.11): 20.2 lbs
Total weight loss since delivery: 55 lbs.
Well, I didn’t gain. But I also didn’t lose this week. It’s totally my fault, I’ve been staying within my caloric guidelines, but I haven’t exactly been feeding my body good fuel. Yesterday’s “snacks” consisted of a cupcake, one cookie, pretzel chips and some goldfish.
No bueno.
I’ve also been seriously slacking in the gym. My fitness partner has had finals for the past week, so I haven’t been able to get into the gym. Now I am committing myself to working out even when she can’t. It’s beautiful outside, so at the very least I can go for a walk.
I’m also going to start doing my daily exercises again (sit-ups, jumping jacks, running in place). They always made me feel like I did something good, every single day.
So today is day 1 of diet, part deux.
I know this is going to be the toughest part of my journey, losing the last 20ish pounds, but I can do it! Next week I hope to see 2 lbs off the scale!
